There are five trims for the Lexus ES hybrid, and they’re all conventional hybrids that seamlessly move from the electric motor during city driving to the gasoline-powered engine when you accelerate to highway driving outside of Brownsville and beyond.

For the range, expect to get between 567 to 581 miles on a single tank of gas thanks to the hybrid powertrain, which runs on a 2.5L inline 4-cylinder engine generating 215 hp.

Because this is a traditional hybrid, the gasoline engine is responsible for charging the Lexus ES as it travels. Therefore, you never have to worry about charging the hybrid at home like the Lexus NX PHEV.
